Getting dizzy in the studio
Hello world! I am writing you from the studio today. We are overdubbing instruments for our record today!! We got up early this morning, ate breakfast, made some tea, sent Mother’s Day cards out, took the pup outside, then headed downtown to our engineer’s studio. Last time we brought cupcakes, this time we brought candy. Jeff and our engineer, Chip, always know that they can count on us for sweets! Haha One of us has always got something in our purses. The record is getting really close! We’re almost finished with vocals. We’re having so much fun doing this. Chip and Jeff like to pick on us three, and our manager, Casey, but all in fun. Of course we get them right back with a quick comeback! Haha. We feel so lucky to be working with these guys! For those of you that live in town, we’re playing downtown … Continue reading
Opening day and music.
Hey guys! We just got back from a trip to St. Louis. Friday we went downtown STL to celebrate Cardinals Opening Day! It is almost considered a holiday for some of our family members! Haha. It was a little chilly, and it rained, but we still had a blast! Our Uncle Ken was barbecuing for everyone, even in the rain! It was awesome. It was nice hanging out with our family because it had been since Christmas since we’d seen everyone. We got back to Nashville last night, and got right back to work today. Angela and I sang backround vocals on a song, then Court sang lead vocals on a new song called “Shoo Dog Shoo”. This is a really fun song! Cannot wait for you guys to hear it! We’ll be back at it tomorrow, and Friday we are adding more instruments to the songs. I LOVE hearing … Continue reading
Brand New Year.
Happy 2012! Hope everyone has had a wonderful start to the new year. We had a lovely Christmas and New Years back home in St. Louis. Spent lots of time with family and friends. Got to eat at all of our staple places back home. Our favorite ice cream place, Doozles, gave us 3 big bags of homemade waffle cones! (thanks Randy. They’re almost gone! haha.) Once we got back to Nashville, we went right back to work! We had a photo shoot with the wonderful photographer, Anthony Scarlati. The pictures turned out great. We can’t wait for you guys to see them! A big thanks to Lunatic Fringe salon for helping us with hair and makeup! You guys are awesome. We’ve gotten some killer new songs that we’re super excited about! We’re going to be heading back into the studio to track a few more for the record. Speaking … Continue reading
Courtney’s Birthday!
Well…It’s about time…..Courtney is now 21! On her birthday we had a fun celebration in Nashville with some great friends and family. We went down to Broadway, and one of our favorite restaurants, Demos’. Then the following weekend we went to St. Louis to celebrate with more family and friends there. We took Court to all the spots a 21 year old has to see. Fast Eddies, Ameristar Casino, the Landing…etc. We had a great time! While we were in St. Louis we had our mom’s side of the family reunion. We loved seeing all the new babies, and playing with our little cousins, and catching up with the older ones. It was great seeing everyone! So now we’re back in Nashville ready to get back to work on our album! We were in the studio last week recording vocals, and we’re heading back in this week to work on … Continue reading
Los Angeles, Vegas Vacation.
We’ve been pretty darn busy this summer with writing, recording, and playing gigs, but last week we had the whole week off. We decided to take a family trip to Vegas and LA. We’ve never been to Vegas before, and let me tell you…it was such a cool place, so many lights…and so HOT! At one point it was 111 degrees!!! Crazy. We did the Hoover Dam tour, which was really neat. We all did a zip line on Freemont Street, which was awesome. I have a fear of heights, but after I did it I was so happy that I had faced a fear! Haha. We walked a lot while we were there. Shopped a lot too! After Vegas, we drove to the Grand Canyon. If you haven’t been there, be sure to make a trip. It was beautiful. Such a sight to see. We took plenty of pictures, … Continue reading
show, family, and studio!
Last night’s show at 3rd & Lindsley was such a blast! We had quite a few friends out. Some of our friends from St. Louis came…which was so sweet! We had some of our co-writers there as well. Keith Anderson and Chad Warrix played after us, and boy were they rockin! Great songs, great musicians. It’s so cool to see how much talent Nashville has to offer. Hoping we’ll get to play with those guys again soon! On another note…We’re heading to St. Louis this weekend with our family for our dad’s side of the family reunion. I’m sure it will be extremely hot!!! So we’ll have lots of water on hand. Then next week we’re back in the studio! SOOO excited for that We’ll keep you all posted on everything! Take care. -Amy
